This list of Generative AI Tools can generate text, speech and images in response to user prompts.  Use these tools for brainstorming, idea generation, writing assistance and editing/polishing, summarising topics for easy understanding.

ChatGPT is a generative AI tool developed by OpenAI. 

Copilot is a generative AI tool developed by Microsoft.  
 

Gemini is a generative AI tool developed by Google.
 

Claude is a generative AI tool developed by Anthropic. 
 

Perplexity is a generative AI tool.  It is not a foundation model so you can choose which model you would like to use.

Academic Research AI Tools

These academic tools are a useful supplement to traditional online databases but their scope is not as comprehensive as what you find in Google Scholar together with Library Databases - but a nice compliment.

Remember about these hybrid systems - AI enables semantic searching and summarisation, but the search engines behind them are different.

NotebookLM by Google is a research tool to assist with summarising content and making connections, sources provided.
