Queensland Writers Centre is a non-profit organisation that supports and celebrates writers. Their website contains a list of upcoming literary workshops and competitions.

Check out this website for different writing and illustrating competitions throughout the year.

Alphabet Soup have compiled a list of competitions for children aged 12 years and under. The competitions include writing and illustrating, poetry and short film. Please take special note of the entry closing date and eligibility criteria. Good luck!

Write4Fun 2019 schools writing competition is now open! There is no theme and entry is free. Entries close on the 30th August, 2019. There are lots of great prizes so what are you waiting for?! Follow this link for more information.

The Treefall Writing website lists 17 different writing and poetry competitions for young writers. The first 9 competitions have a closing date between May and July - so what are you waiting for!?

All young writers in grades 4 - 6 or 7 - 9 are invited to write a short story of 2000 words or less. Entries close 31st August, 2019. The winner of each section will receive $100 each and their story will be published on StoryLinks. Click on this link for more information.
