Have you ever read a book and wanted to tell everyone around you what you thought of it?

Why not write a book review? By writing a book review you can let others know what you liked or didn't like about a book.  This may help other students to decide whether or not they should read that book in the future.

Here are some simple tips to writing a book review:

1. Read the book! I'm stating the obvious right but some students may skip this step. Let's face it we probably all know someone who would do this.

2. Note down the details of the book such as title, author, series/volume (if applicable), year and genre.

3. Write a short summary of the book.  You may want to include information on the main character/s, where the book is set and a brief description of the plot.  Please remember not to give too much away or reveal how the problem was resolved as you don't want to spoil the ending.

4. Write down your opinion.  What do you think the books strengths and weaknesses were? Did you like the way it was written? Did it remind you of another book you've read? Did the book leave you wanting more?

5. Make your recommendation.  Would you recommend this book to others? Will you be reading other books by this author?
