[Holidays] Winter Holiday Ideas: Spiritual & Physical Wellbeing

Camps

A Camp for personal growth around the ANZAC theme. Learning skills to overcome challenges like bullying, and fears and an opportunity to develop character through encouraging friendship, mateship, teamwork, resilience, and confidence through the adventure-based activities and conversations and stories throughout camp. Encouraging worldview and spiritual conversations and an introduction to the bible and faith through stories as well as looking at each ones strengths and abilities. A great camp for personal growth.

Diving In is a great camp to explore and grow in your faith journey. Listen to inspirational speakers and have opportunities to put your faith into action and have great fun all on the same weekend.

This camp has the theme of “a stranger in a strange land” and is a metaphor for students surrounded by a community that is not always supportive of a Christian worldview. It provides activities and studies that help campers work in teams to solve problems and have loads of fun as they learn how to live and share their faith in the place where they are at.

“Don’t sit around staring at your screens these holidays! …come and get involved in our Super Sports Camp! You’ll play all sorts of sports including Touch Footy, Soccer, volleyball and Netball, along with meeting new people, eating great food, and learning about how God cares about YOU and your life!” Bring hope to kids through sports camp.

Training Week is a discipleship camp that brings together Yr10-12 students from all over Queensland to grow together in what it means to authentically follow Jesus Christ and to be a powerful witness for Him in their local schools, churches, families, and communities. The week balances personal spiritual formation through devotional times, intentional worship, corporate prayer, upfront teaching, and small groups, with explicit training in practical theology and ministry skills through different workshop streams, games, and planning sessions. There’s also plenty of free time for fun and fellowship with other like-minded young people who are passionate about living out the Christian life. If you want to be encouraged in your faith and equipped to make a difference for the Kingdom in the spaces God has placed you, then we’d love to see you at Training Week 2023!

We are all passionate about something; science, software, hardware, computer games, graphic design, board games… the list is endless! Übertweak Winter 2023 is your opportunity to challenge yourself and do awesome things with a group of awesome people. During the week you will have opportunities to learn new skills, eat good food, and make great friends. You’ll hear the leaders talk about how God is the main reason Übertweak is such an important part of their life – and get to decide whether you are interested in finding out more yourself. Come and share what excites you with other like-minded people. Connect with a community that is positive, welcoming, and fun – join us on Übertweak Winter 2023 for a week that could change your life!

Welcome to Winter SMADD 2023! SMADD stands for Song-Music-Art-Drama-Dance, a Christian camp designed for high-school-aged students with a flare for the creative arts.  Throughout the week, campers specialise in one of the five cores where they learn new skills and create wonderful things. Every day is comprised of electives that allow campers to explore the arts outside of their existing skill set. Beyond the arts, there are also opportunities to learn about Jesus and discuss some of the big questions about life.  If you’re keen on enjoying a week of fun and meaningful content, come share in the experience that will be Winter SMADD 2023!  This year, the camp will run from July 3rd to 7th! Drop off to camp will be 10:30 am on the 3rd, at Glendalough Camp Site – 102 Lakewood Dr, Peregian Beach (QLD, 4573). Alternatively, there will be a bus available with pick-up sites in Logan, Spring Hill, and Caboolture. The camp ends with a concert on the 7th of July for family and friends to enjoy the work campers have done during the week. This will be held at the Groves Christian College Campus 2 – 12 Velorum Dr, Kingston (QLD, 4114), at 7 pm. Campers will all travel by bus from the campsite to the concert venue, however, carers will need to arrange pick up from Velorum Drive at the end of the night. Come be a part of our community that is known for being welcoming, chill, and a little bit unpredictable. We would love to see you there!  SMADD Directors, Liam, Kieran, Hannah, and Brynlea

Looking after your soul and body

Managing our stress and our rest is a sign of living wisely. Refueling as a way to find joy, to create pleasure, and to celebrate life in the midst of all its demands fills our hearts with renewed hope. When we take the time to breathe, listen, and rest from the daily grind to see miracles bubbling up in our lives.
